Since it is the designation by the U.S. Department of Transportation in 2000, the South Central High Speed Rail Corridor linking Texas, Oklahoma and Arkansas has largely been overlooked by transportation planners in those three states. Other regions of the country, meanwhile, are moving ahead with higher-speed passenger and freight-rail projects, including track expansion, signal upgrades and route streamlining designed to promote regional industrial and commercial development by using high-performance rail to relieve congested highways and airports.
More information on the corridor is available
on our brochure (1.9 megabyte PDF file).
The South Central Corridor is an integral link in an international trade and transportation route connecting Mexico, the United States and Canada.
