Hillwood Company is constructing a $20 million private heavy haul bridge at AllianceTexas, connecting more than 15 million square feet of distribution, logistics and manufacturing space directly to BNSF Railway’s Alliance Intermodal Facility. The project is scheduled for completion in early 2027.

The bridge will cross Farm to Market Road 156 (FM 156) and form part of the Alliance Logistics District, where freight operations can take place within a privately controlled logistics environment.

The new crossing is designed to improve connections between industrial properties and BNSF’s intermodal terminal, reducing the need for freight movements to use surrounding public roads.

According to AllianceTexas, the district accommodates semi autonomous and fully autonomous freight operations, along with private hostler vehicles operated without a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).

The private infrastructure also permits heavy haul movements without the special use permits normally required for oversized or overweight cargo travelling on public highways.
