U.S. Congressman Colin Allred announced Wednesday that North Texas is in line to receive over $172 million this year to improve public transportation, reduce congestion and grow the region's economy.

"This is part of the nearly $650 million in transit funding that Texas will receive as part of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law that I helped pass", according to the Congressman. "The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law is the biggest investment in Texas' infrastructure in a generation and will create jobs and allow the United States to lead the world. This particular funding will allow transit agencies like DART to upgrade their buses and rail cars, make needed repairs and expand their services", said Allred.

In addition the state is set to receive $107 million in bridge repair funding, $80 million for DFW and Love Field airports and over $60 million for electric vehicle charging stations.
