The Gunter City Council and Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad (BNSF) are now business partners. "We negotiated a win-win for both sides... I think that is a huge accomplishment," said Gunter Mayor Karen Souther.

The two sides compromised on 900 acres of land near the intersection of Preston and Mackey roads in Gunter for BNSF to establish a logistics center. They will lease the land to whoever is interested in industrial uses that use rail. I don't anticipate any issues at all. We've put those restrictions in place," Souther explained.
