One State Representative has asked if you would please stop calling and emailing the Senate & House budget conferees on Rider 44, Sen. Birdwell's language that would hurt high-speed rail development.
Apparently their office has been swamped with calls and emails wanting high-speed rail in Texas.

Your help is needed NOW to stop language placed in the state budget bill that would harm a private company wanting to bring high-speed trains to Texas.
Budget Rider 44 circumvents the normal hearing process where the public can voice their pro and con comments and testify on a bill
Budget Rider 44 does not have a single state budgeted dollar attached to it and places undue restriction on high-speed rail that no other project has to meet
Budget Rider 44 will have to be removed by the budget conferees or it will become law for the next two years
Don't let a line of bad language in the state budget derail the bullet train.
Call and/or email the following members of the Conference Committee on House Bill 1 and ask them to Vote No on Rider 44
The Texas Central high-speed rail project from Dallas- Houston will be a game changer for the economy in Texas, and will generate jobs, property taxes and revenues that will benefit the entire state of Texas. Lets demonstrate that Texas is a leader in innovation and has a pro-business spirit.
