Construction gets underway in November at the new North Burnet/Uptown CapMetro Red Line rail station, at the heart of north Austin's fast-growing Uptown ATX community.

The North Burnet/Uptown station is located within the 66 acre mixed-use Uptown ATX development, north of the existing Kramer Station. The transit oriented development is near the Charles Schwab campus and the Domain.

CapMetro expects the station to be the second busiest regional rail transit location on the Red Line, next to downtown Austin.

The new station is made possible through a public-private partnership between Austin's CapMetro and Brandywine Realty Trust.

The station will have

  • Two double-length platforms to accommodate high-capacity service
  • Over a half mile of double track to support operational reliability
  • Pedestrian and Bike pathways to support multimodal access
  • Connections to local bus routes for integrated transit options
  • 200 shared parking spaces available to customers
  • Various safety and security enhancements, including lighting and surveillance

When the North Burnet/Uptown Station opens, CapMetro staff will analyze and repurpose the nearby Kramer Station upon review of operational needs.
