Railroads play a major role in the transportation picture in Texas and the Texas Railroad Association will spotlight new safety technology during Railroad Day at the state Capitol on Wednesday, January 23.
Major Texas railroads and Short Line railroad operators will host a Tech Awareness event at the Capitol that shows how railroads operate safely with a training simulator. The training simulator enables railroad employees to conduct virtual inspections of freight cars and interact with train components to operate safely through various scenarios. Railroad Association members will also get a legislative briefing and, while in Austin, plan visits to their elected officials.
The association is urging followers to use hashtags #TXRAssociation and #RRCapitolDay to connect on social media.
The Texas Railroad Association is the oldest trade organization established in the state, dating back to the 1800's.
